My youngest artist wants to come to Summer Art Camp/After School Art and aren’t five years old yet, is that too young?
ANSWER: If you are unsure about anything we always tell our clients to call and talk to us. Chloe will recommend trying out a class to see how your student deals with being in class for two hours
I have two kids, one that is “youth” age and one that is “kid” age. Can they go to class together?
ANSWER: Some siblings love being together in art class and Enable Art loves having them together. I just make sure to let parents know that if a younger sibling joins an older class they might finish projects faster and have more “free time” to draw or color while the older kids finish up their projects. If the older sibling joins a younger kids class, usually they feel more rushed and want to take more time on the project. This happens sometimes but not always. I will work with the students no matter what the case may be and I do this with siblings all the time.
I have a younger kid that is advanced when it comes to creating, what class is best for them?
ANSWER: I have some 6 year olds that focus better than some of my high schoolers when it comes to art. Age is usually the way we separate classes in school but that does not apply for art. When I am helping parent’s decide what classes would be best for their student I usually ask them how focused they are when they create and how long it takes for their student to finish a piece of art. Younger art classes we usually move quicker in projects and start and finish projects in one day. Youth programs are usually more stretched out and we work on the same projects longer. This is because we are practicing patience and working on improving skills. These classes students will not be coming home with a finished product each class.
How do I know what class to put my young artist in?
ANSWER: If you are unsure about what class would be best for your student, contact Enable Art and ask to talk with Chloe. She is the owner and main teacher at Enable Art and will be able to help place your child in a class that would work best for their skill level.
Should my student bring supplies to art class?
ANSWER: Student’s do NOT need to bring art supplies to class. Supplies are included in all of Enable Art’s Kid and Youth programs. With that being said, some artist have art sets they enjoy using, so they are always welcome to bring their own supplies. They will never be forced to share their supplies with others and are still welcome to use Enable Art’s supplies during class.
Why aren’t we using the “punch card system” anymore for After School Art?
ANSWER: With Enable Art’s After School Art Program growing and filling up to capacity, we need a system that is more dependable for both the teacher and the parents. Unfortunately, we had a large problem last year (2021-2022) with students not showing up to class and not being notified by parents about their absence for that day . This led to class starting later, since we didn’t want to start without other students, and seats being empty in class with no way to fill them with such short notice. We are excited to start a program where the parents will know what medium their child will be working with each week and the teacher will have a good count on how many students will be attending each day. We appreciate your continued support as we grow and perfect our quality programs for your young artist.
What should my student expect in Enable Art classes?
ANSWER: Enable Art Classes were created to get kids introduced to all types of art mediums while using quality supplies. A lot of art programs don’t take pride in the materials the students are using. Enable Art believes all artists should have access to quality supplies which helps Artists learn the medium even better and how it works. Classes start with attendance and waiting for the full class to arrive. While attendance is being taken the students have about 5 minutes to take out a “how to draw book” out of the art book library in the classroom, and drawn and sketch. This is great for the students to get comfortable in class while they wait. A lot of students can’t wait to draw and sketch before the class starts. Once the class has started there will be a lesson where Chloe instructs the students in a step by step lesson that will keep the kids on track and doing a project as a class. After about an hour of creating there is a 15 minute break where the students have snacks and take a bathroom break. After the snacks are cleaned up they finish their projects. If we finish early the students are allowed to draw and color whatever they would like. It is rare to have a lot of extra left over time but there are always things to create if we get done early. After class is done the students will help pick up and Chloe will walk them out to their parent’s cars.

Can I come into the classroom and sit with my child during class time?
ANSWER: YES! I always welcome parents to come in and sit with their kiddo if they are feeling nervous or if the parent wants to come check out the class for the day! I do let parents know that if they come EVERY day for the full class time, the student has a harder time adjusting to the class and it is hard to direct the student in what they should do when they have a parent sitting next to them. I have noticed that the kids lean pretty heavily on having their parents help them instead of jumping into a project and start problem solving themselves. With that being said, I have some younger students that are shy or have a hard time being away from mom or dad. I have a few ideas on how to help with that so just ask me and we can figure something out!
Paint Night & Private Lessons
I’ve NEVER painted before and/or don’t think I am very creative, could I still come to a paint night?
ANSWER: Anyone can take a paint class. We always tell our clients, “If you know your shapes and colors you can do this paint class” All of Enable Art’s classes are created for beginners. I promise you will be amazed at what you create in class. Don’t let the picture fool you. Read Enable Art’s testimonials if you don’t believe us!
I missed a Evening Art Class I really wanted to go to, will you be offering that class again?
ANSWER: There are some classes that Enable Art does plan on repainting but it is rare they will repaint the same image. If you or some friends would like to paint a picture but can’t make it to the date it is happening, schedule a private art party or a private lesson. These allow you to pick whatever picture you would like to paint and have a private lesson. Just pick the class size, canvas size, date and the painting you want to create and we will book it! Private lessons are fun to do for parties or just because!
I have a large group of people that want to do a paint night, should I try and get them all to come to one Evening Art Class?
ANSWER: You are welcome to save seats in an Evening Art Class. We would suggest that you have one person prepay and save all the seats at once so someone doesn’t order in time and isn’t able to make it (that has happened before). Another option would be to book a private paint party. You select the amount of people in the party, the size of the canvas, the date, and the picture your group wants to paint and then you have a fun private class just for your friends, family or work buddies.
