“Desolate” | Acrylic Mural
This Painting was started in the middle of the pandemic 2020 when everyone was in lockdown. Chloe was unable to teach her programs or continue working outside of online classes and needed to create something to help her process the world and the craziness around her.
There were days Chloe found herself not wanting to leave her bed since there was no schedule to follow, no where to go, and no one to see. The world had changed, what felt like, over night and she needed something to do.
So, she gave herself a challenge to work on perfecting the art of painting fabrics and feet. She needed a canvas but didn’t have one large enough so she went out to her garage and found a piece of scrap wood and decided it was the perfect thing to paint on. Creating one of her most detailed paintings on a rough, uneven piece of scrap wood felt fitting for this piece.
This piece is a reminder, for Chloe, to take whatever situation that is given to her and try and create something beautiful out of it… no matter how long it take or how many times you need to start over... pull yourself out of bed, do the work, and everything will turn out the way it needs to.
